Together Anyplace, Togerher Anytime

"If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?" - Albert Einstein

TA2 is exploring many of its ideas through a range of pathfinder experiments. Through these we are exploring users’ reactions to the framing experiences and to the technology innovations which we think will make the experiences more attractive.

Videos and illustrations of these experiments are available on this page and on YouTube.

TA2 introduction video
This video explains the motivation for and ambition of the TA2 project
Improving social communications
This video showcases some of the user interface ideas we are exploring for the connecetd Lobby. They are TV-based and will have to work with normal TV viewing, allowing users to move seamlessly from a TV watching to a TA2 like interaction
Remote playing of a family game
This video shows an early laboratory-based demo of game playing using two screens per end, one a table-top screen displaying the game. The set-up was used to allow assessments on the perceived performance of the low delay audio codec, but what is clear is the degree to which the participants enter into the game, and are able to relate to and tease each other, just as if they were playing in the same room around the same table.
MyVideos
The Video decsribes the MyVideos concept. The story is based on a school concert observed and filmed by many proud parents, subsequently edited and redacted to tell different stories over the years.
Childs Play
These Director illustrations were used to discuss the Child’s play concept.
Sixth Age
These Director illustrations have been used to discuss the concepts aimed at older people – they’ve helped us to refine the concept – we are developing it as a cross generational idea now.
